This whole game happens in one big city called Lumiose. Instead of taking turns, battles happen in real time, so you have to move around and pick attacks quickly.

At night, parts of the city turn into battle zones where you fight other trainers to climb the ranks. That was my favorite part.

Some of the buildings look a little boring, but catching and training Pokémon is still super fun.
